Oklahoma’s Record-Breaking Growth
How Firehawk Aerospace and Plains Ventures Are Part of the Story
Oklahoma has set a new benchmark for economic growth. So far in 2025, the state has attracted more than $13.7 billion in new capital investment, nearly double the previous record of $8 billion set in 2023.
This milestone underscores what many of us already know: Oklahoma is on the rise. With a thriving business climate, access to talent, and growing support for innovation, our state is becoming a magnet for investment.
At Plains Ventures, we’re proud to invest in companies that are not only building transformative technologies but also fueling this wave of growth. Firehawk Aerospace is a clear example. Earlier this year, Firehawk announced a $22 million investment to construct a new 40,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, test infrastructure, and specialized equipment in Lawton.
“As a native Oklahoman, I’ve been intentional about bringing Firehawk’s growth back home,” said Firehawk co-founder and CEO, Will Edwards. “This project will bring new jobs, advanced aerospace manufacturing, and national attention to Oklahoma’s innovation economy. We’re proud to be part of shaping the state’s future as a leader in aerospace and defense.”
Our investment in Firehawk illustrates the power of venture capital to drive both innovation and regional economic impact. As Oklahoma continues its record-setting trajectory, we’re committed to backing founders who are building the future – right here at home.
