Quality Lead – Engineering/Operations

Firehawk Aerospace is a propulsion-focused aerospace and defense company based in the Dallas, TX area. Firehawk is seeking a quality lead, whose primary responsibilities would include developing and ensuring compliance to the quality control program and processes for the company. You will be directly engaged with all disciplines to ensure their contributions support the overall company quality program.

Responsibilities

As the Quality Lead, you will act as a Subject Matter Expert in the area of Quality Engineering and as an adviser for the engineering and production teams. Your responsibilities will include:

• Drive strategies resulting in appropriate business methods and practices for strengthening the quality management system.
• Implementing methods to inspect, test and evaluate products.
• Ensuring that products adhere to quality standards.
• Develop and implement processes to optimize program execution while driving out risks.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure quality standards are in place.
• Effectively communicate with both suppliers and the USG Customer.
• Establish company and program quality management plans and processes that comply with customer requirements and governmental regulatory standards.
• Establish performance metrics and conducting data analysis to identify process improvements.
• Serve as a company interface with suppliers and Customers to ensure Customer satisfaction and accomplishment of Customer requirements.

Basic Qualifications

• Technical Engineering degree at the Bachelor level or above
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance
• Knowledgeable of AS9100 standard and implementation of Quality Management System
• Experienced as a team lead and facilitator
• Experience implementing material review boards and dispositioning non-conformances
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications for development of quality standards, methods, work instructions and procedures for inspection and test of manufactured products
• Experience in making risk-based data driven decisions
• Advance understanding and experience doing root cause analysis and corrective action planning
• Demonstrated understanding of audit techniques
• Knowledge of Configuration Management and control processes
• Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Demonstrated presentation skills
• Ability to travel

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in aerospace or related field
• Demonstrated drive to deliver on tight schedules, especially when unconventional & creative solutions are necessary
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, product / performance specifications and other systems integration technical data
• Special Process Engineering experience to include heat treating, and conversion coatings
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent
• Experience working with a Government customer in a sustainment environment

ITAR Requirements

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Work Environment And Physical Requirements

Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require minimal walking, standing for extended amounts of time, climbing, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.

Security Clearance

May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level. Requires U.S. Citizenship. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
