Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Aerospace Engineer to lead the design, development, and production of advanced unmanned aircraft systems. This role involves technical leadership, innovative problem-solving, and a focus on scalability and manufacturability to ensure the successful deployment of cutting-edge UAS solutions. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to advancing aerospace engineering.
Responsibilities:
Product Design:
- Analyze requirements and statements of work to define engineering objectives.
- Conduct trade studies to evaluate system performance and identify optimal configurations.
- Perform design supporting engineering calculations and validations, including free-body diagrams, load analyses, and lifecycle studies.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to design products and tools optimized for production environments.
- Develop and execute test plans, conduct flight tests, and analyze data to validate designs and performance metrics.
- Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to enhance product reliability and performance.
Manufacturing Support:
- Generate detailed part and assembly drawings, with a focus on sheet metal fabrication.
- Create work orders and provide guidance to technicians for assembly and production processes.
- Offer quality assurance and hands-on support to UAS production teams during the assembly and integration phases.
Documentation:
- Develop comprehensive technical documentation, including part drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), work instructions, and maintenance guides.
- Provide technical diagrams and supporting information for design reviews and customer proposals.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5–8 years of experience in aerospace engineering, with a focus on UAS design, development, and testing.
- Proficiency in MATLAB and SolidWorks.
- At least 3 years of experience in mechanical design and creation of detailed drawings.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and design-for-manufacturing (DFM) principles.
- Expertise in sheet metal fabrication and aerospace manufacturing processes.
- Proven leadership abilities, including mentoring junior engineers and managing projects.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in engineering for Group 1–3 UAS.
- Proficiency with model-based mechanical design tools.
- Familiarity with Product Data Management (PDM) software.
- Demonstrated experience generating and managing BOMs.
- Hands-on experience working with machine shops and aerospace vendors.
- Skills in data analysis for aircraft performance optimization.
- Advanced understanding of mechanical design, including failure prevention and materials science.

- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines.
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% annually.
