Battery Lab Technician

Role and Responsibilities

The Battery Lab Technician will assist in the creation of new science and refinement of existing scientific procedures as a part of Ten-Nine Technologies’ Cell Development team. This position is expected to:

• Work in a laboratory setting with various equipment and chemicals, including work in a glovebox

• Keep work area clean and schedule equipment use as-needed

• Ensure that proper PPE & equipment procedures are being observed

• Assist with communicating & enforcing lab policies

• Carry-out routine and non-routine battery experiments (including slurry preparation, pellet fabrication, coin cell builds, and electrochemical testing) and related work

• Provide feedback and/or suggestions on equipment and processes for continuous improvement

• Record and organize work using specified company software(s) & documentation

• Perform routine calculations

• Complete tasks provided by the Battery Engineer & Head of Cell Development

• Collaborate with other departments and team members

• Use effective time-management skills to give accurate expectations and updates

Preferred Skills

• Associate degree in Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or a related field
• Background in both primary and secondary battery systems
• Competency with battery fabrication and testing
