Role and Responsibilities
The Battery Lab Technician will assist in the creation of new science and refinement of existing scientific procedures as a part of Ten-Nine Technologies’ Cell Development team. This position is expected to:
- Work in a laboratory setting with various equipment and chemicals, including work in a glovebox
- Keep work area clean and schedule equipment use as-needed
- Ensure that proper PPE & equipment procedures are being observed
- Assist with communicating & enforcing lab policies
- Carry-out routine and non-routine battery experiments (including slurry preparation, pellet fabrication, coin cell builds, and electrochemical testing) and related work
- Provide feedback and/or suggestions on equipment and processes for continuous improvement
- Record and organize work using specified company software(s) & documentation
- Perform routine calculations
- Complete tasks provided by the Battery Engineer & Head of Cell Development
- Collaborate with other departments and team members
- Use effective time-management skills to give accurate expectations and updates

- Lateral problem-solving ability
- Good organizational skills
- Enjoy working with hands and equipment
- Must pass a background check
- Basic computer skills (Windows OS; Microsoft Office)
Preferred Skills
- Associate degree in Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or a related field
- Background in both primary and secondary battery systems
- Competency with battery fabrication and testing
