Technical Drawings: Create detailed technical drawings and models of rocket components, systems, and assemblies using Creo/Windchill. This person should implement industry standard GD&T principles.
Collaboration: Collaborate closely with design engineers, production, quality, and other departments to understand design requirements and ensure accuracy in drawings.
Documentation: Maintain organized and up-to-date design documentation, ensuring version control, and adherence to company/industry standards.
Quality Assurance: Review and verify the accuracy of drawings and models to meet industry and safety standards.
Configuration Management: Manage design revisions and updates as necessary throughout the product development lifecycle.
Communication: Clearly communicate design intent and changes to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Problem Solving: Identify and resolve design/drawing-related issues and discrepancies in a timely manner to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications:
Education: A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field is preferred, but not required.
Experience: Proven experience as a drafter, ideally in aerospace or a related industry using Creo/Windchill or other related CAD/PLM software.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD modeling and drafting software. High-level knowledge of ASME Y14, especially ASME Y14.5, is a requirement.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate and error-free technical drawings and models.
Team Player: Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
Problem Solver: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
Rocketry Knowledge: Basic knowledge of rocketry or aerospace engineering is a plus but not required.
